Create and modify layout viewport in AutoCAD. By Jackson April 3, 2014. When you show a drawing with layout space, you can use viewport in this environment. Today you will introduce how to create and modify viewport. You can create a single layout viewport so that fits the entire layout or create multiple layout viewports in the. AutoCAD provides you with the ability to create a sheet layout from one of several existing templates. The sheet layout is based upon a sheet set that you can.
AutoCAD 2018 is a powerful designing and drafting software used to create precise 2D and 3D designs. In this beginner's course, learn how to get started with AutoCAD. Shaun Bryant covers the basics of the user interface, showing how to use the ribbon, change workspaces, use the ViewCube, and work with the Quick Access Toolbar. Shaun also demonstrates how to manage files and options, navigate your drawings, and draw and modify objects. Plus, he explains how to draw more accurately with Grid and Snap, use text and annotations to help others get a clearer understanding of your designs, and work with the native DWG file type.
Upon wrapping up this course, you'll be prepared to use AutoCAD competently in any industry—architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or product design. Shaun Bryant is an Autodesk Certified Instructor in both AutoCAD and Revit Architecture.Shaun has sales, support, and technical expertise, CAD managerial skills, and 30 years of industry experience. He has worked as a consultant, trainer, manager, and user, all of which helped him develop a diverse skillset. His career has included 18 years as a CAD, BIM, and facilities management consultant and trainer, with the earlier years of his CAD career in sales, pre-sales, and business development. He also has industry experience as a CAD manager/user.

Welcome- Voiceover We're back in 03NavigatingDrawings.dwg file, and what we're going to look at now is how we work with the model tab and the layout tabs in our AutoCAD 2017 drawings. Now we do cover layouts and model tab later on in the course as well in a lot more detail. So don't worry.
This is an overview. It's telling you what the model tab does, what the layout tabs do, how to set up a new layout tab. So let's have a look at that then.
What I'd like you to do is take the crosshair in the model tab over to these double doors here. You'll see them highlight, and just roll up on the wheel of the mouse there for a few moments, and then what you'll find is you can get zoomed in nice and close like that, and you can see that we've got a dimension there of 1830, 1830.
That is 1830 millimeters because this is a metric drawing, or 1.83 meters. It's pretty obvious that it's not 1830 inches or feet. Now the reason I'm showing you that dimension is because you draw everything in the model tab. Practice while you learn with exercise files.
When it comes to CAD, 'plotting' refers to everything around printing and page setup, while 'publishing' refers to electronic output. These techniques are intertwined in AutoCAD.
The goal of both is to clearly communicate design intent to the contractors, architects, and engineers involved in the project. Watch this course to learn how to plot and publish your own drawings effectively, using the appropriate tools and settings within AutoCAD 2016. Shaun Bryant covers scaling views, customizing page setups for layouts, and assigning plot styles to change the appearance of your drawings when they go to plot or publish. He also shows how to adjust individual settings in the Plot and Publish dialogs, so that you end up with smart, readable printouts, DWFs, and PDFs.
